Chicago

I earned a $500 Marriott gift card for my Creative Memories sales this spring (in addition to my commission!  Woot!) and I am going to use it in Chicago.  We are going the 3rd weekend in August  to a wedding, and my parents, siblings and I are going a few days earlier to vacation while my husband stays home with his turkeys.

We want to see the Shedd Aquarium.  (According to my dad, that Shedd guy was from Iowa.)

Anything else?

Dad likes history and tractors, Mom and I like antiques and junking, little sister likes shopping and little brother likes…um, I dunno.  I also like gardens and historic homes.

How many days should we plan to spend there?

Anyone been to the Children’s Museum?  Is it good for a 2 year old?

Any other suggestions?

  1. Millenium Park is fun for the family. Kids have to play in the fountain and you have to see the giant bean!

  3. You will have a blast, Katie! I tok Sissy in December (we rode in on the commuter train from S Bend) and went to the American Girl Place. It was fabulous! Obviously that's not going to work for your little guy, but we had such a great time there! She was thrilled just to be in the "big city" and loved shopping @ the Disney Store, too. :)

  4. Congrats. I never made a dime consulting. Probably because I have cheap friends and I was much too busy buying! :) I just saw on someone else's blog the black and white paper ribbons???? I think I need some of those!

    Lots of yummy love,

  5. I have always liked the Museum of Science and Industry. Even if shopping isn't your thing, I also think a trip to the original Marshall Fields now a Macy's is in order when you go to Chicago. The Sears Tower at night is pretty cool as well and I think they have a super duper pass that gets you into several places for one price so be sure to check it out. Have fun!!!

  9. Oh you're going to have so much fun! I don't know much about the museum, but my son has taken his little ones to the Children's Museum in Omaha several times... beginning when they were just toddlers. I'll bet the same is true for Chicago.
