31 Days of Decorating with Junk: My Gallery Wall (and accepting the reality of your family’s influence on your décor)
Here’s the thing…I love junky décor. Vintage accessories, antique furniture, soft hues and weathered patinas. If I lived alone, my house would be very different from the way it is now.
But I don’t live alone. I live with my husband and two other boys. Two little boys. Two little boys who have colorful toys and need a place to play with them.
And so, my house cannot be just pretty. It also has to be functional. Functional for me, my husband and the boys.
Everywhere you look in my house reflects this need – the need for beauty and function. And this wall is no different.
Above, you see my gallery wall. I adore this wall.
Below, you see the boys’ toys. They adore their toys.
And to the left and right, the couch and tv. My husband adores sitting on the couch watching his tv.
So in the end, my living room doesn’t look like a magazine, but it looks like a place where everyone in the house can be comfortable. And that’s perfect for us.
