Love Your Little House: The Finale

This is going to be like the finale of 4th of July fireworks.  Lots and lots of eye candy, sprinkled with some “oohs” and “aahs” and “No!  THAT one was my favorite!”

The series kicked off with a little explanation of why we decided NOT to add on to our house, but instead, intentionally make the best use of our current space and be content with it.

Then, we had two posts on decluttering and purging, because little houses hold less stuff!

And for the stuff that stayed in your Little House, some tips to organize it and make it pretty.

Now, I’m going to get a bit philosophical and mushy with you all.

For me, this series was born from an idea that had nothing to do with houses… It was about contentment.  About wanting what you have.  About spending your time and energy (and money) on things that matter most.

But that doesn’t mean you have to just give up on your house and live with the status quo.  I truly believe that a beautiful, more organized, more efficient home can improve our lives immensely.  For me, it is a creative outlet, a reflection of my family, and a comfortable place to be.
But it can be all of those things and under 1500 square feet.

  1. This was a great series! I think you could totally do an on-going tips-for-living-in-a-small-house theme. Like that's what you post about once a week or once a month... Just an idea. I love these pictures! It seems cozy to have a sectional crammed into a small space with a tv, or a bed above built-in storage, or a baby's room in a nook the size of a closet! Besides, smaller homes mean less to clean!

  2. This is the trend these days. Stay where you are, remodel, update, love where you live. Couldn't have said it better! Looks like some great reads here. I do like sectionals in small spaces too. No wasted space for seating. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
