Playroom Inspiration!

playroom inspiration ideas

When we finished the basement, Bart moved his office down there, and now we have a playroom on the main floor!

It’s nice to have a room where toys can stay spread out, but not be in our way.

But it took me a long time to get the room organized and decorated in a way that worked for me AND the boys.

One of the things that helped was browsing blogland for playroom organization and décor inspiration and the playroom is finally something that I'm proud of.  But before I show you OUR playroom, I want to show you some of my favorite playrooms from fellow bloggers.

(Please pin these images from the original source! I’ve made it easy for you by including the pins on this pinterest board.)

First up, The Pleated Poppy.  I love everything about this playroom/homeschool room, but especially the chalkboard wall and bright crates shown here.  Be sure and click over to see the whole room!

Next, my dear friend Rachel’s playroom/homeschool room.  The books organized by color make me smile.  This is another room that you should really click over to see.  She has different centers set up, just like a preschool or kindergarten classroom!

This is Guinevere’s playroom from Modern Camelot. I don’t know about you, but I’d be happy to have this as a living room, let alone a play room!  I love the splash of color the curtains provide.

Cassie from Primitive and Proper has school aged children, and their playroom is a fantasy wonderland, with Narnia influences throughout.  It’s one of my favorites.

Simply Sadie Jane put together an amazing playroom for her toddlers.  You have to click over and see the other angles.  It’s an Ikea and Etsy Lover’s Paradise!

Carmel, the blogger behind Our Fifth House, has a couple of neat play areas for her kids, including this art center.

And last but definitely not least, this playroom from Busy Budgeting Mama is so cute! My 3 year old would absolutely love playing in here.

What do you think? Wouldn’t you love to have a playroom like one of these for your kids or grandkids?

Maybe I can find som inspiration on how to fit 32 desks into a space designed for 25?

    1. Oh, Kirby - I had that issue, too! But I taught 4th grade, so my room was probably a bit different than yours. (And I had a blast setting up my classroom library!)
