My little guy is only 22 months old – kind of young for crafts. But I wanted something handmade to give the grandmas for Mother’s Day. I saw a tutorial for homemade cards here and though we’d try it, with a twist.
Step 1: Recruit help. Mother’s Day is a family affair.
Step 2: Hire an artist. Here is ours.
We pay him with bananas.
Step 3: Help artist do some scribbling. We put newspaper underneath because we knew the markers would bleed.
Step Whatever: (I’m horrible at tutorials.) Here comes the fun part.
After a few minutes, it had bled a lot more, and you couldn’t tell the difference from one scribble mark to the next.
This one worked better. Adam colored this one (hubby did most of the other one.) The big blocks of color turned out much prettier.
Then, follow A Little Lovely’s lovely tutorial.
Excuse the crazy colors in the photograph. I swear, it’s not quite this vibrant in real life. It was night time and I wanted to get this done for Tot Tuesday at Delicious Ambiguity.
Pretend they have a cute little tag that says Happy Mother’s Day. My printer is broken (don’t tell my hubby that it’s because I tried to feed fabric through it. oops!)
I’m going to include some of the adorable pictures of their grandbaby, as well as our customary flat of annuals for their porches! Happy Mother’s Day!
Cute idea and it looks like he had fun!
