Although I got a little behind with the big HomeShed sale this weekend, I’m not having a problem coming up with 31 Junk posts because there are so many things that I’ve been meaning to blog about and haven’t. For example, this was a project I did for The HomeShed’s spring sale, way back in April. It’s about time I shared it, don’t you think?

I painted this in January in the Red Granite Farm greenhouse. Even in January in Iowa, the greenhouse heated up to 70 or 80 degrees when the sun was out. But when the sun went down, it cooled off again. I’m not sure that the temperature fluctuations are really great for paint that is curing, but it turned out okay.
I also painted a twin headboard to match. But I wanted these pieces to be really special – something you couldn’t buy anywhere else…
…so I taped off the rectangles and painted those with chalkboard paint. I also painted the inset part of the headboard with chalkboard paint (which I then neglected to get a picture of.)
This set (along with a window frame painted the same color) went home with a friend, who posted these pictures on her facebook page. I shamelessly stole them to show you.
I pictured the headboard above the dresser, like a message board, but Jenn had an even better idea. Isn’t this adorable in her son’s room!?!? (By the way, Jenn blogs here and is an amazing photographer in Central Iowa. She took my family pictures.)
What do you think? I think it’s cute, cute, cute!!!
