31 Days of Decorating with Junk: Quick Chair-Do

Get it?  Like a Hair-do.  And a Chair Re-Do.  A “Chair-Do.”

I’ve been searching for the perfect dining chairs for the past couple of years.

And one day, they appeared on Craigslist.

The elderly gentleman thought he had 5. $11 each or  $10 each if I’d take all 5.

Why, of course I’ll take all 5!  Thank you!

Turns out, when we started gathering them from around his house, there were 8.

Yes, a complete set of 8 sturdy, matching, antique oak chairs.

For $10 each.

WHAT?  I know, I know.  Best Craigslist find EVER!

The only problem was the yellow vinyl seats.

These type of chair seats are super easy to recover, but I liked the wipe-up-ability of the vinyl, so I did what any practical mom would do. I recruited a 7 year old neighbor girl, removed the seats…

…and spray painted them!

I’ve spray painted vinyl before, remember?

They’re not perfect, but they’re perfect for us, for right now.
