I've slowly grown to understand my shyness and be more comfortable with it. Now I work with 3 year old kids every day and can totally see these techniques working. Definitely the giving time to answer. Such an important point!Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08915989460165896175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2857161791109887176.post-1303692566174804262012-03-15T08:14:05.960-05:002012-03-15T08:14:05.960-05:00P.S. We spend the rest of our parenting years saying, "Be still and HUSH" or some variation of that idea ;-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06003384586082557583noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2857161791109887176.post-63201261591119075882012-03-15T08:12:45.457-05:002012-03-15T08:12:45.457-05:00Be careful what you wish for ;-) No, our oldest i...Be careful what you wish for ;-) No, our oldest is shy, but she is starting to come out of it. I like your ways of helping Adam find his voice. He'll get it, just be patient.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06003384586082557583noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2857161791109887176.post-16186578153169473192012-03-14T17:47:27.063-05:002012-03-14T17:47:27.063-05:00Great tips, great post!Great tips, great post!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06521040589867251837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2857161791109887176.post-27679800181738826502012-03-14T10:47:17.019-05:002012-03-14T10:47:17.019-05:00Good work! We don't have this particular problem (Lincoln gives hugs all around, for instance, when I'm talking with a group he doesn't know and he walks up), but I try to be careful with how I label things because Lincoln picks up on it. I'm really going to take note of these things...my little girl is 2.5ish and talks so, so much at home...I see her completely shut down when we're out. To the point I feel sort of bad b/c she looks so scared. I've worked a little harder at having other mom's from the area over with their Cheyennehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02216810837548735987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2857161791109887176.post-72778243673517663382012-03-14T08:23:54.700-05:002012-03-14T08:23:54.700-05:00This is great! I too worry about her not participating in class. When I took her for her three year check up the pediatrician kept asking her questions and she wouldn't answer. I bet the dr. asked me five times during the visit if she talked. As soon as the Dr. walked out of the room she Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17149294851736916344noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2857161791109887176.post-87619062689748723842012-03-14T08:00:23.111-05:002012-03-14T08:00:23.111-05:00What a great post!
